[00:00:00] Hello, amazing investors. I want to jump on. I've been thinking about this for a while, and I've been listening to some other really good thinkers and reading some books around this topic , and I want this to be a little bit more tangible.

[00:00:19] And I'll start with my journey a little bit. . I started about almost a decade ago, and I jumped into the coaching world from the engineering world, and I had just gone through about close to 5 years of schooling and about a couple of years of working in the field and. All of a sudden, I make this big shift I went cold turkey.

[00:00:41] Pretty much, I left the engineering field and I jumped into this coaching world or influencer world. Whatever it was, I didn't even know how to, it was such a new thing for me. I was trying to figure out how it works, but the thing that connected with me a lot to my heart, to my soul, to how I wanted to show up in the world was that when I got exposed to it, I was like, this is me.

[00:01:04] This is what I've been wanting to do for a long time. And I remember going to my first big conference. I was in San Jose, California. It was close to 700 and something people from 47 plus different countries. And I was in a group exercise surrounded by six or seven . other amazing people from around the world.

[00:01:22] And they were talking about their mission to serve, support, contribute, and do something that matters to them. And I was just listening to them. And at the end of it, I remember saying, this is like, what the hell, where the hell have you guys been all my life? And even though when I came back, I made the decision, you know what, I'm moving forward in this new direction.

[00:01:42] I had a lot of doubts internally myself. I had a lot of fears, of course, just like any other person who is starting out a new path. And I had a lot of pressure socially as well, because to everybody else, I looked crazy, literally crazy that I'm about to jump off a very lucrative, successful path that I could be [00:02:00] on from a, from a work perspective.

[00:02:02] From a career point of view, and I'm jumping into something that I didn't even know how to explain to people. All I had was an intuition, a hunt, and this wisdom that I got from years and years of research that I did during the times where I was struggling, where I didn't know which direction to go.

[00:02:19] I was just doing things for the sake of doing things because other people were doing things. And that's a challenge with most of us. We are a social species. Our drive to comply with conform with other people is so high. We underestimate this so much. And Dr. Gabor Monte talks about this is that we have two drives.

[00:02:38] One is the drive for authenticity. The other ones, the drive for attachment, the drive for authenticity, sent it to your core as a human being, to your soul, who you are deep down. Whatever you believe, whether you believe you came from God or you're here for a purpose, or you believe that you came here randomly, you come in with some unique traits.

[00:02:58] That is you. That is authentic to you came here as a child with those as a child. And you, you amplify work on that. And that gets developed within the environment you live in. And then your other major need as a social species is the need for attachment. And they're both constantly kind of there's a tug of war between them.

[00:03:17] And of course, there's a middle ground that happens where you have your, you can't survive with either one. Actually, you can survive without your social group. You can survive without authenticity, but it's a slow death. It's like a slow suicide because you're going to be miserable.

[00:03:32] You're going to be disconnected. And I've lived close to 30 years of my life like that. It is not worth it. So why am I sharing all this? Along my journey, I got to experience this firsthand and I built a couple of successful businesses that is growing right now. But that's not even the point.

[00:03:49] Like, it's not that I built successful, successful businesses or a life that matters to me. What matters more, and this is the key. Every person that I've met from, [00:04:00] and I've worked with a lot of different kinds of people from kids all the way from 13 years old, all the way to 65, plus 7 years old, 7, 0, who are entrepreneurs, CEOs, executives, stay at home, moms, students, professionals of all kinds, entrepreneurs of all kinds.

[00:04:17] And as I've worked with them, almost everybody has this idea of. looking towards this life that they want to build. And I'm not against that. In fact, I do a lot of trainings and coaching sessions on, on building your vision, building your path, but there's a big misconception that people have. My approach is that build your vision, build your plan for a life that matters to you, not to your parents, not to your society, not to your culture, not to all that stuff.

[00:04:42] The only condition that yes, it can be aligned with your parents, culture, religion, all that stuff is if you feel aligned with that. If you don't, then it can potentially go the opposite direction. So what is that? And this is why one of my favorite quotes the opposite of courage is not not fear. It's actually conformity. And conformity is when you let go of your authenticity completely for the sake of your social status, standing approval and all that stuff. So coming back around about roundabout to my claim and timeless advice that you can retire tomorrow.

[00:05:18] So keep in mind that most of the people that I work with are investors and entrepreneurs, and they want to create a life of purpose, fulfillment, abundance, of freedom of legacy that they want to leave behind for those around them. And one of the biggest areas they don't consider a lot of the times is that they're always waiting.

[00:05:39] They're always waiting for their relationships to get better. They're always waiting for themselves to get better. They're always waiting for their life to get better, for their finances and investments to be a certain point, or for them to get the thing that they want to do or create the life that they want to do.

[00:05:54] And by the way, I did that too. So not just, it's not pointing fingers, I've done that. But at this point, after [00:06:00] being on this journey for almost a decade, I realized that one of the things , that gives me an edge on, on the success side on the. On the on the business side is that I'm not waiting for anything every morning that I wake up.

[00:06:12] I look forward to do doing the thing that matters to me. And a lot of investors will say, well, I need to make passive income. So I never work a day in my life. Actually, there's a flaw in that thinking because if you even if you had all the passive cash flow that you want it and Tomorrow you had all the money and you get to do whatever the hell you want tomorrow.

[00:06:33] And let's say you had some ideas about traveling the world, doing all sorts of stuff. I can bet you within a year, you're going to run out of all those entertainment things that you're thinking about. So what actually brings a life of freedom for you? Well, a life of freedom is, of course, connected to your time freedom, and you should be going towards that.

[00:06:50] But it's much more so connected to your sense of purpose and what matters to you. And what do I mean by that? So the work that I'm doing as a coach deeply matters to me. Whether somebody pays me or not, I'm going to be doing this work, whether I do it as a hobby, as a business of tomorrow, the economy around, if somebody figured out a technology with where AI coaches everybody much better than I do, that's not possible yet.

[00:07:13] But let's say that happens. I will still be doing this. And I'll find another way of generating income or I'll rely on my investments or I'll find passive income and other things, but I'll still be doing this because this matters to me. But what's smart is, and this is what Alan Watts said, is that what's, what's smart and wise is to, to create a path where you do something that feels like play, that feels like you'd never have to work a day in your life.

[00:07:43] Or, and Naval Ravikant puts this in another way. Do something that feels like play to you and work to others. That's when nobody can compete with you. So what I do feels like play to me. So when I work 10 hours, 12 hours, however long a day that I work, [00:08:00] this is not work for me. I come here to play, to have fun, to grow, to connect, to do all those things.

[00:08:05] So when another coach or business owner does the same thing to them, it's work, they cannot sustain this. So, and that's why I say that I don't, I'm not waiting for me to create some. Amazing business. And I do want to create an amazing business. I do want to create a large business to support a lot of people.

[00:08:21] I am hiring other coaches. I want to build this industry because it's given me a lot. But besides that, I'm not waiting for that. If I stay at this level, If I just do what I do right now, stay at the level that I'm in, I'm happy to do this every day that I wake up minus the weekend weekends. It's time for my family most of the time and friends and spending time with them.

[00:08:45] But at least the weekdays, I enjoy doing the thing that I do. It's not work for me. This is how you can retire. And this is timeless advice. Any person Go look up any person that you admire when they tell you that I'm so disciplined and I do. I'm like I put in the time and effort to do this. It sounds like they're punishing themselves.

[00:09:04] That's not the reality. Go a little bit deeper. Look at the details and you'll find out that whatever they do with themselves, they love what they do. They love researching. They love doing things, whether it's fitness, whether it's philosophy, whether it's science, whether it's coaching or investing, whatever it is, it's fun for them.

[00:09:21] It's play for them. Now, that doesn't mean that every part of it is easy. Think about playing a game, video game. I used to love video games. I don't play video games anymore because this is my video game and video games is fun, but there are levels of challenge and every level is. In fact, you can get very frustrated in video games.

[00:09:38] It's very difficult to move forward at certain, certain video games. Some of them, you can't even move forward. Very few people can. Those are some of the best video games, by the way, and business is one of those games or the kind of coaching that I'm doing it that that's connecting that has that I've built a business around.

[00:09:53] I've built a couple of businesses around. It's the thing that I love. I will do it regardless. I will make a [00:10:00] podcast regardless because it's fun for me. I will put out content because it's fun for me. I'll get on calls with people because it's fun for me. I'll do this because it's play for me. Right now, one of my nephews, he's visiting us from Sweden.

[00:10:13] Well, he went to States, but he was here. I spent a couple of days with him here and we went outside. And he's like, he's like, it's amazing. It's like, it's amazing that you turn something so vague into a career path. Because he saw the whole journey the past 10 years and he saw the tension and everything that was there in my family.

[00:10:34] I come from an Eastern world. There's everybody's involved in your life. There's very boundaries are very fluid. So he's like, it's amazing that you built it into something. It took a lot of hard work. It's not easy. But when you pick the path that matters to you, it feels like play, even if it's frustrating play, it's the thing that matters to you.

[00:10:53] And also, you can expand the same idea in your life. When you build a life that matters to you, this part is really important. When I get people to think about their vision, I don't just get them to think about their business path. I get them to think about the kind of lifestyle that matters to you. The kind of who are you picking to be around you, your friends, your, and of course, you don't choose your family, but at least you choose your friend, your colleagues, your business partners, your partner, your the kind of kids that you, you don't pick which kids come in, but you pick how you what kind of values you pass on to them.

[00:11:25] And that makes a big difference. What kinda life do you design? Not just your relationships, but how you structure your life, your time where it goes. And, and one of my my clients co one of my clients really quotes me a lot on this point, is that I helped her develop 98 per a 98% purposeful life. And I say that in jest because you can actually create a hundred percent purposeful life that's completely meaningful to you.

[00:11:51] And if I were to survey a hundred people, it would be about fif. And these are very high achieving people. About 40 of them will say they. They have about half of them [00:12:00] will say that they have about 50 60 percent of their life. That's meaningful to them. The rest of it completely meaningless. And I would bet that those are a lot of them are around obligations and social things that they've made up in their mind because they need to meet that need for attachment attachment.

[00:12:17] And they've sacrificed a bunch of their authenticity for that attachment. Of course, there is a balance in there, and that will be for you to experiment. But find the thing that you love to do, turn it into a craft, find, make it marketable. There's so many creative ways you can do things and design your life that matters to you, even if you're building towards it.

[00:12:39] Just the fact that you start working towards it towards that ideal version of you towards that ideal life, you will feel connected in your own life because you're building towards what matters to you. But you don't just wait for what you build, start living that vision now, even if in the beginning stages when I was doing Uber at the time, and I had maybe one or two calls a month or.

[00:13:00] Every few weeks that I would do with clients potential clients. I wasn't even getting paid for it But I celebrated that I connected with that I shared that and I would say that one day i'm gonna have a lot of clients and I do Because that I wasn't necessarily looking forward to a lot of clients I was excited about it, but I was enjoying the thing that I was doing.

[00:13:18] So i'll leave you at the With this and i'm actually doing a productivity webinar on february 8th type in hashtag productivity mastery that will help you think about how you can create a life like that to get rid of a lot of things that might be distracting to you to go towards building a life that matters to you to become effective and productive on the things that actually bring health wealth and happiness for you.
